Jenny and Cato earned their Rally Novice Title!

Tip of the Month
Keep your dog Fit, not Fat
Your dog's weight is one of the easiest thing to control, yet so many pet dogs are obese. Not only does this make your dog unhappy, it can lead to serious health issues, including, but not limited to, Diabetes, Hypertension, Orthopedic Injuries, Osteoarthritis, Respiratory Disorder, Various forms of Cancer, and Cardiac Disease. Overfeeding your dog can also get very expensive (unnecessary extra food and vet bills).
To accomplish a healthy weight, you'll need stop giving them any table scraps and cut down the amount and fat content of the treats they get. Feed them a well-balanced, nutritionally appropriate diet on a schedule (we suggest 1 meal in the morning and 1 meal in the evening). Your dog food will have suggested feeding amounts, and you can let your dog's body guide you: Ribs should be palpable, with minimal fat/no excess fat covering. Waist should be easily noted when viewed from above, and the abdominal tuck should be evident.
You may also want to start your dog on an exercise program. Ask your vet first if they have any existing medical issues. Increase their daily activity level slowly to avoid injuries and soreness. Try to find something you will enjoy doing together so that it becomes part of your life.
What our Clients are saying:
"AllBreed North is simply a home away from home for your canine pet! There's only one place I trust to leave Zoey (2 1/2 year-old golden retriever) for short and extended periods of time and that's at Jake & Jenny's! She has gone there since she was an enthusiastic 4 month puppy! We comment that Zoe is always excited to go to "her spa"! From the convenience of pick-up and drop-up and knowing that she is in an actual home with people who care for her is a great peace of mind! She is always so excited to see her friends at AllBreed North! Jake and Jenny treat your pet as one of their own and I can not thank them enough!"
Nancy Pascutoi, Woodbury, MN
"AllBreed is perfect for us and our dogs. We have one dog who loves everyone but has allergies. Jenny worked hard to keep her comfortable and active throughout her stay. Our other dog has separation problems but did great with the home style atmosphere and attention. Price is comparable to kennels closer but none can match the value and love they show our dogs."
Susan Asplund, Woodbury, MN
"We've trained, shown and boarded our Labs through Jake and Jenny for years now. I'm always impressed with their knowledge and expertise. Jake and Jenny offer our dogs a warm atmosphere when we have them boarded there. They always come back happy and well cared for. I love the home environment that is offered when boarding or training our dogs with them. It's the closest thing to home for our dogs so I'm grateful when we can get our dogs in for boarding there. While we are away I never have to worry about our dogs. I know they are included into the "family" at AllBreed North and it's the atmosphere that they are already used to. The obedience classes have been helpful beyond words. The first dog that Jake helped us train has gone on to do modeling for Target. The way they connect with the animals is fantastic. Jake and Jenny sure know how to problem solve and it's always effective training. They are both very knowledgeable about AKC events as well. Jake has already pointed our Labrador towards his AKC championship. I'm thankful for their service to the community and their dogs."

"Anyone who has ever owned or had anything to do with Springer Spaniels knows they are a bundle of energy. Thanks to AllBreed North and their Puppy Kindergarten class I am now able to teach and work with my dog to enable him to know the basics of good behavior. He still is a bundle of energy, but thanks to Jake and Jenny I am able to control some of that energy and work on his behavior. Thanks."

What our Colleagues are saying:
"Jenny has been a client of mine at AllBreed Obedience in Woodbury training her own dogs. She was an enthusiastic trainer with the ability to successfully motivate her dogs. Jenny has excellent handling skills and communicated effectively with her dogs. She always came to class prepared and ready work. It was evident that she practiced the assigned homework with her dogs as they could successfully complete the exercises."
Ann S., St. Paul, MN
"In the past two years I have known Jake, it has been easy to see the transformation and progress in his ability to train and work sport dogs. I first met him through a training club (Rogue Ringsport) out of Harris, MN – and he was very interested in learning about proper decoy technique and training method. At that time, he knew very little about decoy work, however he seemed very motivated and open minded to engage the work. Since then he has consistently proven his talent and ability to evolve as a dog trainer, reading various breeds of dogs, motivating them individually, and graduating them to high levels in the sport. He has certified as a Mondio Ring decoy – passing a written and physical exam (not an easy feat). This sport involves many exercises that are complex, and require an intelligent training process, which Jake has demonstrated, not only as a decoy but also as a trainer and handler with his own dog Cato. Without hesitation I can say many good things about Jake and his ability as a dog trainer."

"Jenny and Jake were puppy raisers for Can Do Canines, raising Hoover for our service dog program. They are both good, consistent handlers, teaching Hoover many of the skills he needed to be placed with a client."
