Spring Safety Tips:

1. Make sure your pet is on year-round heartworm preventive medication, as well as a flea and tick control program. "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." -- Ben Franklin

2. Keep your dog away from spring plants such as Azaleas and Rhododendron, Daffodils and other spring bulbs, Cyclamen, Kalanchoe, Dieffenbachia, Lily of the Valley, and Sago Palm. These can cause an array of symptoms, including, intense oral irritation, drooling, nausea, severe vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, possibly seizures, a drop in heart rate, bloody stools, damage to the stomach lining, severe liver failure, possible cardiac arrhythmias or respiratory depression, and even death.

3. Be careful while doing your spring cleaning; make sure dogs are away in their crate to avoid exposure to any chemicals or letting them slip out an open door when you turn your back.
