This program length is best for puppies under 4 months old or for dogs under 2 years old to work on a few skills for obedience and manners (no reactivity, aggression, resource guarding, etc.)
This is our standard program length for most dogs... it's best for working on obedience and manners but may also start you on the modification of mild behavior problems as well.
Longer programs are the best option for dogs over 2-3 years of age, as they have had more time to practice bad habits, which makes it harder to make long-term changes.
“Our pup was 6 months old when we sent her to AllBreed North's Board & Train program. She was a really challenging dog for us to train, I was at my wit's end. After 5 weeks in the program, she came home a new dog! We are so thankful for AllBreed North's knowledge, guidance and communication throughout the entire program. They truly care about your dog and want both you and the dog to be successful. I would recommend their B&T program to anyone with a new dog! We are so pleased with how everything turned out.”
Elyse R, Corcoran MN“I would give 10 stars if I could! We did a four week board and train program and our dog came back a whole new dog, confident and well behaved. We really like their training methods and our dog absolutely loves staying there. We are looking forward to continue working with them for follow up training and boarding our dog!”
Rita H, Maple Grove MN“We are very impressed with the quality of training our 1 year Golden received during his 14 day training. He went in with basic obedience and listening "pretty good" to coming out with sharp listening skills and responding to the command immediately. I was amazed! The training video was very thorough and helpful in giving us techniques to continue the training at home. I would definitely recommend AllBreed North”
Sara T, Ogilvie MN“I have to say we have had a lot of company this summer and Dakota has been so so good. I am so proud of him!!! We still lock him up until he is sitting and calm. The kids have done a good job of listening to the rules. Dakotas favorite thing to do is ride on the golf cart with them. I was worried about it at first, but he loves to go on there with them and he sits still and perfect! Thank you so much!!!”
Linda C, Siren WIOur availability is subject to a number of factors (including going through our screening process - which typically takes about 2-3 weeks) and therefore fluctuates... we do our best to accommodate specific dates if requested but also try to get you in ASAP (first come, first served).
We are always training with every interaction, but we also do formal training sessions, totaling about 1 hour every day of their program.
This is one of the rare things we actually have in common with traditional programs, and for good reason... it could be confusing (or even distressing) for dogs to see their owners/parents during training. We take advantage of today's technology by posting pictures and videos on social media, and by emailing progress reports.
Most dogs are let out every 2-3 hours unless they are in potty training and need more frequent breaks. This averages to be approximately 6-8 times per day. The only exception to this routine are holidays and/or special occasions, where we try to limit to 5-6 hours at a time.
We work hard throughout the entire process to thoroughly educate you about what to do (and what not to do) when your dog comes home from training. It'll be up to you to practice and continue your learning alongside your dog in order to maintain training progress.
We are a professional member of the APDT and we pledged to abide by their ethics statement, which reads: “Members will refrain from giving guarantees regarding the outcome of training because there is no sure way to guarantee the cooperation and performance of all parties involved and because the knowledge of animal behavior is incomplete.”
No. Dogs are living beings that make their own choices... it's our job to teach them that it's more rewarding to make the 'right' choices. Because we primarily use treat-training (rather than an e-collar), you will not have your dog on a remote control; we help you build a better relationship with your dog so they want to work with you.
While we don't offer payment plans, we do accept all major forms, such as credit cards, etc. In addition, the way we require the total to be paid [deposit to book, 50% upfront, remaining balance at graduation] breaks it up a bit for you.
When your dog graduates the program, the work is not done... because most people don't yet have high-level handling skills, it will take some time, practice, and maybe a little troubleshooting as adjustments are made. It's normal for a little progress to be lost in transition, so we provide you with a recommended plan to return for Refresher Training.
It typically takes 2-3 weeks for screening then the program could be 2-12 weeks out. If everything is in place and you are prompt with your tasks, 1 month out might be possible.
Awesome! You're planning ahead:-) We can do a few things beforehand... application, phone call, registration, etc. (optional: virtual Private Lesson to cover preparation and crate training). Their vaccines/fecal test needs to be UTD for their age each time they come, so we will move through the process as we're able to.
We charge our nightly boarding-portion rate, which is currently $45+tax= $48.32
No, no matter if they pass or fail, you are paying for our time and care for your dog.
Yes, we can usually get a Virtual Private Lesson scheduled about a week out. In-person lessons require vaccinations to be UTD and verified, so they typically take longer to get to.
Please Email Us... we don't monitor our office phone (we only use it for our initial discovery call to get to know each other a bit) but we both get notifications on our own personal cell phones when an email comes in.
We're likely not a good fit... Our program is rooted in relationship-based training with treats & positive reinforcement rather than using harsh corrections with a strict regimen for 12 weeks straight, then going home with a shock collar & remote. We use long-term cooperation and communication with the owners in order to create realistic expectations and produce lasting results (while being fair to the dogs).
