Frequently Asked Questions

  • How much do your programs cost?

    Pricing is listed on each service page... In 2023, full programs start at $100/day+tax (the base boarding fee is $45/night+tax). We do not offer extended-stay discounts for Board & Train Programs, but you will get them during your dog's subsequent Refresher Training stays.

  • Do you guarantee training results?

    No... We are a long-time member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, and we pledged to abide by their ethics statement, which reads: “Members will refrain from giving guarantees regarding the outcome of training because there is no sure way to guarantee the cooperation and performance of all parties involved and because the knowledge of animal behavior is incomplete.”

  • Can I visit during the program?

    To be fair to the dogs, we don't do visits, but we frequently post pictures/videos on social media, and send you weekly progress reports... you may also email us at any time to check in and see how they are doing:-)

  • What payment methods do you accept?

    Credit Cards, Checks, Cash, PayPal... we don't offer payment plans, but the full program cost can be broken down into 2 separate payments.

  • Can we call you if we have questions?

    In order to provide great care & training to the dogs, as well as good customer service, we use email for most communications. This allows for both of us to get the message ASAP, keep good records to avoid mix-ups, and respond as soon as one of us is able.

  • Do you offer boarding-only?

    Only grandfathered clients who started boarding with us prior to 2015 are eligible to board without adding any training. Returning Board & Train Program graduates must include at least 50% Refresher Training during their stays (of 3+ days).

  • Will you groom my dog?

    We are not groomers, but we can provide basic care while they are in their program. If they need it (and can handle us doing it), we may brush, bathe, clip nails, etc. Getting your dog to accept grooming can be added as a training goal.

  • How long have you been doing this?

    Jake grew up in the dog training world (finishing his first show dog when he was 13 yrs old), we both worked at his parent's obedience school & doggy daycare, and we started ABN in 2008. We also started an online dog training business (OnDog Training Academy) in January 2021 and a podcast (Learn, Laugh, Bark) in April 2021.
